Small in size but great in reputation, the city of Amboise is famous for its historical heritage! The royal chateau, the Chanteloup Pagoda and the Clos Lucé are the real “must sees ” of our tours.
Starting from our office located on the Loire river bank, and following your chosen tour, you will see the largest regional marketplace , the ancient church of St.Denis and the historical old town centre.
You will navigate around the chateau, where illustrious kings held court then glide up to the top of the town stopping off at Clos Lucé which was Leonardo Da Vinci’s final home. Admire the exceptional panoramas of the Loire and it’s surroundings before coming back down towards the river banks.
Wine lovers may choose to visit a troglodyte wine cellar , enjoy some wine tasting and learn about local cheeses and which vintage wines go well with them.
Others may prefer to cross the river Loire to take in the island, ” L’ile d’Or”, and its lavish view of the royal city and chateau !
