Tours
As capital of the Touraine region and a busy student town, this "MINI PARIS " is renowned for its sweet living, its animated café-lined "Place Plumereau " and its ancient paved streets. The 70 meter high St. Gatien cathedral is one of the major momuments of this city which also contains other interesting places.
The tour starts at the " Place Anatole France" , and, following your chosen route, you will weave around the library then scoot down to the Loire riverside with its open-air dance café GUINGUETTE which is very lively in the summer time. Then immerse yourself in the heart of the old town with its paved streets and its popular PLACE PLUMEREAU!
Some of you may come across the Monster at the grand market place before moving on towards the LES HALLES district!
Admire the majestic TOWN HALL which is where the four great boulevards of TOURS join together before moving onto the RAILWAY STATION and the CONGRESS PALACE.
Contemplate the ST GATIEN CATHEDRAL before heading back to the Loire riverside....unless you have chosen to discover the ELEPHANT FRITZ and the PASSAGE DU COEUR NAVRE before crossing the royal river over the St. Symphorien footbridge and coming back across the old Wilson bridge!
